Career events
Meet us at one of our upcoming events
All the great minds of our time have one thing in common: They have to eat something now and then.
think-cell takes this need very seriously, which is why it came up with the EAT++ series of career events. We regularly invite computer science students to talk over a meal in a relaxed atmosphere. We also support conferences on C++, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Graphics and give technical talks or complete technical courses on topics our developers know by heart.
We decided to do this, because we are constantly on the lookout for new software developers. We are very interested in emerging talent and will be happy to stay in touch with you over the longer term. Even if you have no specific plans for your professional future, we would still like to get to know you. And we think we can do that best when meeting in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.
LambdaConf in Estes Park, USA
May 7, 2024
We are thrilled to announce that our Software Engineer, Jonathan Muller, has been invited as a guest speaker at LambdaConf to present his talk 'An (In-)Complete Guide To C++ Object Lifetimes' where audience will learn about the rules for object creation and destruction, and when it is safe to form pointers and references to object. They will also learn about advanced functions like std::launder
, std::bit_cast
, and std::start_lifetime_as
.
LambdaConf was launched in 2014. It is a multi-disciplinary conference held in Colorado, featuring talks that discuss everything from Artificial Intelligence and DevOps to Functional Programming and System Programming Language. The conference offers a great opportunity to connect with the wider programming community and exchange ideas across programming languages and paradigms.
We are very excited about this opportunity and eagerly anticipate exploring this new conference on our bucket list!
C++ Now in Aspen, USA
April 29, 2024
At the end of April, C++ Now will be taking place in the beautiful surroundings of Aspen, Colorado, USA for the 12th time. The event is described as a community centered conference that has a unique picking of key people in the C++ community, and a strong focus on looking at the future of the language. It attracts people who are truly passionate about the language and is run by volunteers of a not-for-profit.
We are especially happy to be the video sponsors of the conference this year, as our aim is to support the broader C++ community with innovative content. For those who cannot attend in person; the good news is that all conference videos will be uploaded to YouTube where they can be watched for free at any time.
We are also proud to announce that Jonathan Müller, our Software Engineer will be presenting his 90 minute talk “An (In-)Complete Guide to C++ Object Lifetimes”. In this talk the audience will learn about the rules for object creation and destruction, and when it is safe to form pointers and references to object. They will also learn about advanced functions like std::launder
, std::bit_cast
, and std::start_lifetime_as
.
We wish everyone a delightful conference and are thrilled to take part for the fourth time!
Datathon in Zurich, Switzerland
April 26, 2024
We are thrilled to announce that think-cell is sponsoring the Datathon for the very first time. This event, hosted by the Analytics Club at ETH, is recognized as the largest student-run AI and Machine Learning society in Europe.
This year, approximately 180 talented students, carefully selected from 500 applications, will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and present creative solutions to today’s challenges within a 24-hour timeframe.
Scheduled to take place at Innovationspark Zürich from April 26 to 28, 2024, this event will feature not only the main challenges but also engaging side challenges for participants from renowned universities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Alina, Senior AI Engineer, and Till, Machine Learning Engineer, will be there to present think-cell’s challenge, which involves leveraging AI to analyze image data and extract valuable insights for real-world applications.
We eagerly anticipate the innovative solutions from the Hackathon participants. See you there!
using std::cpp in Madrid, Spain
April 24, 2024
This spring, we will be participating in Spain's largest C++ conference, using std::cpp, for the third time.
It is organized by the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and supported by the Standard C++ Foundation. The conference will take place over three full days between the 24th and 26th of April.
Two members of our development team will be giving their talks during the conference. You can hear Senior Software Engineer Sebastian Theophil’s talk “The top 5 debugging techniques — Number 5 will surprise you!” on Thursday the 25th of April at 12:50pm and Software Engineer Jonathan Müller’s talk “The New Library On The Block: A strong library foundation for your next project” on Friday the 26th of April at 17:00.
To find out more about our technical roles and the way we work, come meet Julia and Anna from our HR team at the think-cell booth. Sebastian and Jonathan will also be present and happy to answer any questions.
You will also have the chance to participate in our raffle to win some fun prices, and to pick up some sweet and savory snacks from Berlin.
We can't wait to be back in Madrid!

C++ Lecture at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany
April 15, 2024
On April 15th, 2024, think-cell is excited to provide a C++ lecture at Freie Universität Berlin, one of Germany’s top-ranking universities and currently ranked 98th worldwide.
We are pleased to re-establish our connection with the Freie Universität Berlin Institute of Computer Science, where we presented our previous lecture seven years ago.
We extend a cordial invitation to everyone interested in software development and debugging to join us for this unique C++ lecture. The presentation entitled "Nobody Can Program Correctly: A Practical and Interactive Guide to Debugging C++ Code" will be given by Sebastian Theophil, our Senior Software Engineer. Sebastian will take you through several debugging scenarios, explain the importance of bug reports from clients, and show you the best practices for effectively finding and fixing bugs in C++ codes.
We are grateful to the Institute of Computer Science for arranging a dedicated lecture hall (Großer Hörsaal, Takustraße 9, 14195 Berlin) for this lecture. We encourage you to secure your spot here and now since this presentation is free and the seats are limited.
Furthermore, Julia and Yik from our HR department will be present at our booth beginning at 3.30 p.m. with some surprises. They would be more than ready to answer any questions you may have regarding the current opening positions, our application process, and life in the dynamic development team at think-cell.
We can't wait to be back at Freie Universität Berlin soon!
We are looking forward to seeing all the students and C++ enthusiasts!
C++ Meetup Berlin, Germany
March 20, 2024
think-cell is thrilled to announce that we are resuming our Berlin C++ Meetups after a 5-year-long break. We aim to revive the C++ community in our city and provide a forum for enthusiasts to share their knowledge of the language.
The topic this time is "Nobody Can Program Correctly: A Practical and Interactive Guide to Debugging C++ Code". Our Senior Software Engineer, Sebastian Theophil, will walk you through the debugging procedure, how to identify the root cause in the event of a program crash, and how to make sure this fault never reoccurs.
Participants can enter from 6.30 p.m. onwards and the presentation will begin at 7 p.m. Following the discussion, you can have pizza and a drink while interacting with other C++ enthusiasts and software engineers from think-cell. Additionally, members of our HR team will be present to walk you through our application process, share insights into think-cell's work culture, and answer any other questions you may have.
It is completely free to take part in this event; however, since seating is limited, we encourage you to register here as soon as possible. The presentation will be posted to our website for later viewing by those who are unable to join us in Berlin.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, 20th of March 2024, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Le Wagon Berlin.
A special thanks to Le Wagon for allowing us to utilize their space!
We look forward to an in-person discussion with the Berlin C++ Meetup group!
